My blogs:
Personal computing and devices
This was originally intended to disuss digital devices and PCs. However, Computer processors and computing technology
have become ubiquitous in home appliances. Digital devices and technology are discussed in the relevant blog.
Music
This blog is about music, digital and analog, though mostly digital. Especial attention
is given to the SHARC database, Csound (MIT), and digitization of old 78RPM LP vinyl records.
Residential Solar Power
My house is run on solar power. This blog concerns the development and maintenance of a home solar power station
with particular attention to the Raspberry Pi SoC (System on a Card), a computer the size of an adult's palm.
Home Entertainment Center
I built this home entertainment system for relaxtion and entertainment. Most media are accommodated: VHS, CD, DVD, Blu-ray, and Internet streams.
HDMI, USB, WiFi, and LAN communications are incorporated. Surround Sound 5.1/7.1 and 4K-UHD-2160p video with, or without, HDR processing are available.
Imaging - analog and digital.
Many years ago, I explored image files as a form of data storage. TIFF images with grographic references, known as GeoTiffs,
along with Tiff as heightfield storage iinterested me. I was studying digital cartography at that time. In pursuit of that study, I ran across the beginnings
of the science of HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography. The work of Dr. Paul Debevec and Eric Reinhard formed the basis of my studies.
